What is your position and how long have you held it?

I am excited to be the Fire Chief of Westfield Fire and Rescue District. I have spent 22 years as a Paramedic/Firefighter -Lieutenant with the City of Medina’s Fire Department. I also worked as a Paramedic with the Medina Life Support Team for 18 years, Medina County Sheriff SWAT team 10 years, and worked as a High School Career Tech Teacher for 4 years. I served 25 years as a Navy Reservist retiring as a Chief Hospital Corpsman.

Tell us why you decided to get involved with Westfield Fire and Rescue District?

I served in and around Medina County for all my adult life. I love the community, I enjoy the beauty of Westfield, the community events, and the small-town atmosphere. I am excited to give my time, my skills, and abilities to lead the outstanding members that make up the Westfield Fire Department.

What certifications do you hold?

I am a certified Paramedic, Professional Firefighter, Fire Safety Inspector, Fire and EMS Instructor, certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Basic Life Support. I am a Stop the Bleed Instructor, a military Tactical Combat Casualty Care Instructor, Live Fire Instructor, CPR Instructor, and a licensed schoolteacher.

What are you passionate about?

I am most passionate about my family, my wife Cathan and our three daughters. Maggie, Maya and Kennedy. I love spending time with them at sporting events, vacationing, camping and exploring Medina County parks.

Fun Fact: I have traveled to over forty countries.
