What is your position and how long have you held it? 

Westfield Township Fire Chief effective August 1, 2023. Prior to this position, I was the Assistant Chief at Westfield.

Tell us why you decided to get involved with WF Township as a Trustee, Fiscal Officer, Road Supervisor or Zoning Inspector?

To serve the residents of the district in which I now reside.

List any certifications you have? 

I am a state of Ohio firefighter II, Advanced EMT, Fire Safety Inspector, Assistant fire Instructor and Haz-Mat Technician. I hold my Fire Officer 4 (Chief Officer) certification, as well as the Ohio Fire Chiefs’, Maxwell Leadership course. I spent 4 years in the Marine Corps Reserves as a Motor Transport Operator. I am also working to obtain my Ohio Fire Chief credential through the Ohio Fire Chiefs’ Association

Any questions pertaining to the Westfield Fire & Rescue District. I encourage residents of the district to contact me if the fire department could be of any assistance outside of an emergency situation. Currently We offer CPR and first aid classes. I will be looking to offer more safety oriented programs to the district in the near future.

What are you passionate about?

The fire service in general. I am a fourth generation firefighter. I began my career in 1995 with the Chippewa lake Fire Department (Now Lafayette Township) I served The residents of Lafayette and Chippewa Lake for 25 years. During that time, I worked 13 years at the City of Medina Fire Department. I have always been passionate about helping others in need and also love teaching the next generation of firefighters to be safe and successful.

Fun fact about yourself:

I have lived in Medina County my entire life. I grew up in Chippewa Lake and graduated from Cloverleaf High school in 1995. I reside in Westfield Township with my wife Alison. We have 3 children, 2 daughters ages 22 and 18, and a 12-year-old son. I enjoy watching my son play travel baseball, working outside, and taking care of my 9 goats and miniature donkey.
