Meet Kent Patterson, Westfield Township Trustee

My position:

I’m currently serving my second 4-year term as Township Trustee.

Contact me for:

Any question or issue you may have. As a newer Trustee, I’m always interested in what people have to say or suggestions they may have.

Why I got involved with Westfield Township:

After retiring from 48 years of police work, I wanted to stay involved in the community. Throughout my career, I got to know many people and enjoy working with the public. Being a trustee allows me to continue that work and hopefully make a difference in Westfield Township.

For over 20 years, I’ve assisted with runs and supported Westfield Fire & Rescue. I understand their needs and am passionate about supporting the work they do for the community.

My certifications:

I have a bachelor’s degree in political science, and am graduate of the Highway Patrol Academy and the University of Louisville Southern Police Institute.

I recently retired as school commander for Police Law Enforcement Program, and also served on the Medina County Educational Service board for 15 years.

What I’m passionate about:

I have a big interest in helping people. I felt that way from the day I entered the patrol and now in my work for the township.

I’m also a family guy. My two sons are both in law enforcement, the oldest in the FBI and youngest is sergeant with local police.

Fun fact:

I have a deep sense of humor, quick witted and like to make people laugh.

Some people don’t think I smile enough, but I am always smiling on the inside.
